I want to analyse a region with 27 settlements and get the metrics for each settlement's area. I have a base raster with the different land cover types. Should I just cut it to 27 rasters (files) and do the calculations for each?
Alternatively, it would be easier to simply create a "tile" raster that has the entire area broken up into the desired sublandscape, each with a unique numeric code, making sure the extent and resolution match exactly the land cover raster. Cheers
