Fragstats zonal analysis was created by kreed
Hello,
Does Fragstats have the functionality for performing a zonal-type analysis with user-specified "zones"? For instance, I have a land cover raster, and I want to calculate landscape metrics for five contiguous watersheds, which is in shapefile format. Am I able to calculate statistics for all five watersheds by specifying the watershed zones and running Fragstats 1x? Or would I need to clip the raster (creating 5 separate rasters) and run Fragstats 5 separate times? Thank you

I found an older user manual from 2015 that described the process better. It is possible to input a zonal file for this type of analysis, but the zones have to be in raster format as well. This is done under the Analysis Parameters tab > Sampling Strategy > Exhaustive sampling > User provided tiles.
